Personally, I am a visual learning. I've known this for a long time which definitely benefited me as a student. I was able to inform teaching ahead of time that I was a visual learner, therefore teachers were able to work with me when they were doing activities that maybe weren't visual. I think that everyone is different when it comes to learning styles and each different style is benefit to many students but in the end each student prefers or leans on one specific learning style.
When it comes to flipped learning, I think it is a great idea for maybe higher levels rather than younger levels. I truly believe that younger students would struggle with it because it pushed them to work more outside of school. Yes, there will be the students who are ahead and might like flipped learning but I think the number of students wouldn't prefer flipped learning and wouldn't handle it well. Personally, flipped learning would not have been beneficial to me as a younger student because like I said I am a visual learner and being at home working alone would not give me that visual that I need to learn the information.
Do you think it would help if the teacher made a video of himself teaching the lesson with the board?
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it can be beneficial for teachers to make video lessons but for me as a future P.E. teacher I don't think that will fit my style because I am more of a visual teacher when it comes to explaining information.
DeleteI would like you to think of -how- you could make it work for younger students? Do you think if we started this practice with them that it set them up for success with it in the future if we started it with our littles?
